Srinagar, Aug. 14 -- Srinagar- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday called upon the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to learn from the painful experiences of Partition and ensure that the mistakes of the past are never repeated, saying the wounds of the 1947 division continue to linger as a generational pain in India's collective consciousness.

Sinha made the remarks while addressing a Partition Horrors Remembrance Day event at Tagore Hall in Srinagar, where he paid tribute to those who suffered and lost their lives during the Partition.

"Decades after the partition, their sacrifice reminds us that the wound remains unhealed, lingering as a generational pain in India's collective soul," Sinha said.
