India, April 20 -- The Water Works Division Srinagar has announced a disruption in potable water supply across major parts of the city and adjoining areas for approximately 48 hours starting April 21.

According to a public notice issued by the Executive Engineer, the disruption is due to urgent repair works on the Sindh Power Canal (Phase III) being carried out by the authorities in Ganderbal on April 21 and 22.

The repair work is expected to affect raw water supply to key water treatment plants, including Alusteng and Rangil, leading to a temporary interruption in potable water distribution.

The supply disruption will begin from 6:00 am on April 21 and is likely to continue until 6:00 am on April 23.
