Srinagar, May 30 -- Many Hajj pilgrims from Jammu & Kashmir travelling from Jeddah to Srinagar via Ahmedabad protested after being allegedly asked to send part of their luggage separately by road following immigration and customs clearance at Ahmedabad airport.

The pilgrims said they had already paid for 40 kg baggage allowance as per international flight norms, but were later told only 35 kg would be allowed and the remaining luggage would have to be transported separately by road.

Upset pilgrims questioned why Kashmiri pilgrims were being subjected to such inconvenience despite paying higher travel costs. "If we paid for luggage by air, why should it now go by road?" they asked, with some refusing to leave the airport unless their deman...
