Srinagar, Aug. 28 -- Srinagar- Newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar, on Friday said tackling terrorism remains the foremost priority of the police while assuring people of their safety and seeking public cooperation in maintaining peace and law and order.

Kumar, who assumed charge as IGP Kashmir on Thursday evening, reviewed security arrangements at major congregation points in Srinagar and visited areas witnessing large gatherings following Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

Speaking to reporters during his visit, Kumar said police were focused on ensuring peaceful and smooth congregational prayers while maintaining adequate security arrangements across the city.
