Srinagar, June 17 -- Srinagar- A comprehensive study conducted by the District Institute of Educational Research and Training (DIET), Srinagar, has raised concerns over growing drug and substance abuse among secondary and higher secondary school students in the district, highlighting significant awareness gaps and the influence of peer pressure on adolescents.

The study, titled "Drug and Substance Abuse in Secondary and Higher Secondary School Students of District Srinagar - An Empirical Study for Prevention and Intervention", examined the awareness, causes, prevalence and impact of substance abuse among students and recommended a range of school-based interventions to address the issue.
