Srinagar Revamp: Civil Secretariat Among 21 Offices Proposed for Relocation
Srinagar, Aug. 29 -- Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir government has proposed shifting 21 major government offices and public institutions from central Srinagar to the city's peripheral areas as part of the Srinagar Master Plan-2035. This move aims to ease congestion, improve mobility, and open up prime urban land for alternative public uses.
The proposal covers a range of administrative, security and public institutions currently located in densely populated parts of the city. Their existing premises have been earmarked for possible redevelopment as tourism facilities, public spaces, parking areas and other community infrastructure, according to an ETV Bharat report.
