Srinagar Records Season's Hottest Day at 35.3degC
Srinagar, June 29 -- Srinagar- Srinagar recorded the hottest day of the season on Monday as the maximum temperature soared to 35.3 degrees Celsius, with the Kashmir Valley witnessing intense heatwave-like conditions for the third consecutive day, officials said.
An official of the Meteorological Centre, Srinagar, said hot and dry weather is expected to persist across Jammu and Kashmir till June 30, with heatwave-like conditions continuing over most parts of the Union Territory.
He said light rain or brief thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds may occur at scattered places during late-night and early morning hours, while pre-monsoon showers are also likely over the plains of the Jammu region.
