Srinagar, Sept. 5 -- Srinagar-Heavy showers brought much-needed relief to Srinagar on Saturday, easing the spell of unusually warm weather that had pushed daytime temperatures well above the seasonal norm in recent days.
The rain and cloud cover lowered temperatures across the city, giving residents respite from the heat and humidity. Srinagar had recorded a maximum of 32.5degC on September 3, according to the Meteorological Centre, while the minimum stood at 17.4degC.
The latest weather activity follows a period of above-normal temperatures in the Kashmir Valley. On August 29, Srinagar recorded 33.5degC, around 4.2degC above normal, amid largely dry conditions.
