Srinagar Airport To Shut Twice A Week From July
Srinagar, June 1 -- Srinagar- Flight operations at Srinagar International Airport will remain suspended every Monday and Tuesday from July through September as authorities undertake major runway repair and resurfacing works, officials said on Monday.
The revised closure schedule, which comes into effect from July 1, is expected to impact air travel across Kashmir during the peak summer and tourist season, with nearly two lakh passengers likely to be affected over the three-month period.
Srinagar Airport Director Javed Anjum said passenger flight operations would remain suspended twice a week to facilitate the runway maintenance programme.
