Srinagar, Aug. 19 -- Jammu & Kashmir must pay close attention.The region is facing an escalating crisis. As pointed out by a report in this paper, in 2025 alone, there were 55,312 dog-bite cases, an eight percent jump over last year. That's 425 bites per 100,000 people, far higher than Delhi's 160 or Uttar Pradesh's 90. Srinagar's Anti-Rabies Clinic treated more than 14,000 bite victims in a single year. In Jammu, rabies has killed 16 people since 2019, seven in just the first half of this year. These are not statistics. They are lives shattered, and families scarred.
