Shopian Man Booked Over Alleged Social Media Impersonation, Fraud
Srinagar, Oct. 3 -- Srinagar- Police have registered a case against a man in South Kashmir's Shopian district for allegedly impersonating government officials through social media and deceiving people through fraudulent representations.
The accused has been identified as Umer Shamim Ganie, a resident of Meemandar, Shopian.
According to police, Ganie allegedly used social media platforms to impersonate officials of various government administrative offices and used the purported identities to deceive different individuals.
The case also involves allegations of cheating and fraud, criminal intimidation and wrongful restraint, police said.
