Srinagar, Aug. 26 -- According to officials, the Basenter River in Samba has crossed the evacuation level, flowing at 9.0 feet, which is the highest water level ever recorded for the stream. The Devak River in the same district has risen above the danger mark of 4.3 feet and is only six inches below the evacuation level. Bein Nallah in Samba is also flowing close to its alert level of 3.3 feet.

In Udhampur, the Tawi River is flowing seven feet above the evacuation level, the highest alarm category, raising serious concerns for low-lying areas.
