Srinagar, Aug. 9 -- Locals said Daferpora, a small hamlet with around 40 households, has seen nearly 30 households affected in recent days. Most patients are suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting.

Speaking to KNO, residents allege the water supply scheme in the area, constructed in 2002, has been neglected for over two decades. "The main water storage tank has never been cleaned since it was installed. We have been drinking from the same unclean source all these years. This negligence is now directly affecting our health," said Ghulam Nabi, a local resident.
