Srinagar, April 24 -- Srinagar- In a major recognition of cutting-edge medical research from Jammu and Kashmir, Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie, Director of Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, has been conferred with the prestigious "Recognition of Academic Excellence (RAE)" award by the National Academy of Medical Sciences.

The Achanta Lakshmipathi RAE Award for 2026 was presented to Prof. Ganie for his outstanding contributions in the fields of maternal and child health, women's health, and community nutrition-particularly his pioneering work on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and its broader metabolic implications.
