Srinagar, July 31 -- Srinagar- Observing that compassionate appointment is a welfare-oriented measure intended to provide immediate relief to the dependents of deceased employees, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on Thursday held that procedural formalities cannot override the humanitarian purpose of the scheme.While allowing a plea filed by 25-year-old Najam-us-Saqib, a Bench of M.S. Latif (Member, Judicial) quashed the rejection of his claim for compassionate appointment and directed the authorities to reconsider his case within eight weeks.
