Srinagar, April 21 -- Srinagar- A year after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that left 25 tourists and a local pony handler dead, authorities on Tuesday marked the anniversary with the unveiling of a memorial and stepped-up security across the region.
The black marble memorial, erected along the banks of the Lidder river, bears the names of all 26 victims and stands as a stark reminder of the violence that unfolded in the meadows of Baisaran on April 22 last year.Security has been significantly intensified in and around the hill resort, with additional police and paramilitary personnel deployed, checkpoints reinforced, and surveillance heightened to ensure a peaceful commemoration.
