Srinagar, June 19 -- Srinagar- More than 22,500 youth in Jammu and Kashmir have entered the formal workforce under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Friday, asserting that the employment-linked incentive scheme is transforming the Union Territory's employment landscape and expanding social security coverage.

The remarks came as Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed incentives worth Rs 2,400 crore to over 15 lakh beneficiaries across the country under the PM-VBRY scheme. Simultaneous outreach programmes were held at 200 locations nationwide, including multiple venues in Jammu and Kashmir.
