Srinagar, Sept. 21 -- Srinagar- Only 899 new posts have been created across various departments in Jammu and Kashmir since October 16, 2024, the government informed the Legislative Assembly on Monday.

In response to a question by Handwara MLA Sajad Gani Lone, government data showed that the Health and Medical Education Department accounted for the highest number of new posts created at 485, followed by the Housing and Urban Development Department with 266 posts and the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department with 82 posts.

The Jal Shakti Department created 43 posts, while the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (DMRRR) created 16 posts.
