Srinagar, April 9 -- Srinagar- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that no compensation can ever substitute the loss of a loved one, as he distributed appointment orders to 90 beneficiaries under SRO-43 and the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme (RAS) at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre.
The appointments, granted on compassionate grounds, are aimed at providing immediate livelihood support to families who have lost their primary earning members across the Kashmir division.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that while government jobs are usually associated with achievement and celebration, the circumstances surrounding these appointments are deeply painful.
