Srinagar, June 18 -- Srinagar- The Meteorological Department on Thursday warned of flash floods, mudslides and waterlogging in vulnerable areas of Jammu and Kashmir as rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds and hailstorms lashed several parts of the Union Territory.

Officials said many areas across Kashmir and parts of the Jammu division witnessed a spell of rain and thundershowers during the evening, bringing temporary relief from the prevailing warm weather conditions.

An official at the MeT Centre Srinagar said weather activity was reported from several districts, including Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri and Poonch. Rain and thundershowers were also recorded along the Sonamarg-Baltal-Holy Cave axis ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra.
