Srinagar, Aug. 20 -- Srinagar - Rain lashed parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, bringing light to moderate showers to several areas, but the respite may be short-lived as the weather department forecast hot and humid conditions with intermittent rainfall across the Union Territory till August 27.

The Meteorological Centre said scattered to widespread areas could receive light to moderate rain or thundershowers from August 21 to 22, with brief intense showers possible at isolated places, particularly during the early morning and afternoon.

From August 23 onwards, the heat and humidity are expected to return, punctuated by brief spells of rain and thundershowers.
