Lidder Swells, Flash Flood-Like Conditions Hit Pahalgam
Srinagar, Sept. 1 -- Srinagar- Heavy rainfall triggered flash flood-like conditions in parts of Pahalgam on Tuesday, with the swollen Lidder River overflowing at several points and waterlogging roads in the popular south Kashmir resort.
The increase in water flow in the Lidder River led to flooding of roads and affected movement in several areas, with driving conditions becoming difficult amid continued rainfall.
Officials were monitoring water levels and the situation in vulnerable areas. No casualties or major damage were reported so far.
The spell of rain also affected several other parts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Kulgam and Shopian.
