Srinagar, April 21 -- Srinagar- The University of Kashmir suspended a Scientist-C from its Computer Sciences Department after his arrest in a rape case filed by J&K Police over a 28-year-old woman's complaint.

An official order issued by the University's Administration Teaching Section states that Sajad Mohammad Khan has been placed under suspension with immediate effect in view of his detention in custody. The action, as per the order, has been taken under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, following his arrest in FIR No. 11 of 2026 lodged at the Women's Police Station Rambagh, Srinagar.
