Srinagar, Aug. 24 -- Srinagar- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday directed the School Education Department to expedite its inquiry into the Kishtwar schoolgirl rape case and complete it within one month to ensure stringent and exemplary action.

"Chief Minister today directed the School Education Department to complete its inquiry into the heinous Kishtwar incident concerning a young schoolgirl expeditiously so that stringent and exemplary action can be ensured in this matter," Omar posted on his official X handle.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to complete the inquiry within one month and take all necessary steps to bring the investigation to its logical conclusion.
