Kashmir's Campus Shift
Srinagar, Aug. 13 -- Kashmir's universities are beginning to confront a problem they helped create: an education system that can produce graduates faster than the economy can absorb them.
For years, campuses have relied heavily on theoretical syllabi, inherited theorems and credential-focused learning while the job market moved toward skills, technology, entrepreneurship and applied knowledge.
The resulting mismatch has fed educated unemployment and contributed to falling interest in some academic programs.
