Srinagar, May 13 -- Srinagar- A disagreement has emerged between the Jammu and Kashmir administration and mutton traders ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, with the government asserting that adequate stock and advance preparations are in place while dealers allege lack of consultation and unresolved issues related to livestock movement from Punjab.

Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Satish Sharma, said the administration has ensured sufficient availability of essential commodities and strengthened coordination mechanisms well ahead of the festival season.

Speaking after reviewing arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha, the minister said preparations had been initiated in advance to avoid shortages and disruptions.
