I am writing as a young Kashmiri who has spent nearly twelve years listening to, standing with and speaking for Kashmiri students.

I have met young people preparing for examinations, searching for jobs and trying to build independent lives. Their circumstances differ from those of students elsewhere in India, but their basic concerns sound strikingly similar.

They want a fair chance, a credible system and the confidence that their effort will receive fair treatment.

That common aspiration is why Kashmir belongs in the national debate over examination integrity and recruitment.
