Srinagar, Aug. 16 -- Amid chants of "Hare Krishna, Hare Rama," devotees carrying flags and idols of Lord Krishna moved through the city centre, drawing the attention of passersby.
The heart of Srinagar-Lal Chowk echoed with chants and hymns, creating a festive atmosphere.
Rajesh Kumar, one of the devotees participating in the procession said that it was heartening to see such celebrations taking place in the centre of Srinagar. "Janmashtami is a reminder of peace, love and devotion. We are happy to celebrate it openly," he said, as per news agency KN O.
