Srinagar, July 30 -- Jammu- A Jammu and Kashmir government employee has been suspended and disciplinary proceedings initiated for his dismissal from service after he was allegedly caught accepting a bribe for issuing an income certificate to a villager, officials said on Thursday.

The action followed a complaint lodged by a citizen at the Deputy Commissioner's office in Jammu, alleging that he had to pay money to obtain his income certificate.

Deputy Commissioner Jammu Rakesh Minhas said the complaint was promptly verified and found to be prima facie true.
