Srinagar, July 21 -- Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the advance lifting and distribution of foodgrains under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and Non-Priority Household (NPHH) schemes for August, September and October 2026 to ensure uninterrupted supplies during the ongoing monsoon season.

The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) said the measure has been taken as a precaution against possible transportation and logistical disruptions caused by adverse weather, with the aim of safeguarding food security across the Union Territory.

Under the arrangement, eligible beneficiaries will be able to collect their foodgrain entitlement for all three months through a single transaction. The...
