J&K Heads Into Another Wet Spell, MeT Warns Of Intense Showers
Srinagar, Aug. 8 -- Srinagar- Rain lashed parts of Kashmir on Saturday as the Meteorological Department forecast more showers and thunderstorms across Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in a few districts of the Jammu division.
Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 26.1 degrees Celsius, 3.8 degrees below the seasonal average, while the minimum settled at 19.5 degrees Celsius. The city received around 2 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours till 5.30 pm.
The weather office said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at many places on August 9, with brief intense showers possible at a few locations.
