Srinagar- The High Court of J&K and Ladakh on Saturday revised the pecuniary limits of jurisdiction of Civil Judges (Junior Division) and Civil Judges (Senior Division) in the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

According to a notification issued by Registrar General M.K. Sharma under Section 21 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Courts Act, 1977, all Civil Judges (Senior Division) will now have powers to hear civil suits valued up to Rs 20 lakh within their territorial jurisdiction.

Similarly, Civil Judges (Junior Division) have been vested with powers to hear civil suits valued up to Rs 5 lakh.
