Srinagar, April 21 -- Srinagar- The High Court of J&K and Ladakh has quashed a preventive detention order under the Public Safety Act (PSA) of a resident of Uri Baramulla, holding that the curtailment of personal liberty must strictly comply with constitutional safeguards and cannot rest on vague or mechanical grounds.
"Preventive detention laws mandate strict adherence to procedural safeguards, including timely communication of grounds, approval by the Government, and reference to the Advisory Board.
