Srinagar, July 23 -- Srinagar- The Government of Jammu and Kashmir is in the process of formulating an Eco-Tourism Policy, which is expected to be finalized and notified within six months.

The Department of Tourism has informed the Assembly Secretariat that it is actively engaged in drafting the policy. "The Department is actively engaged in formulation of the Jammu & Kashmir Eco-Tourism Policy, which aims to establish a comprehensive framework for conservation of natural resources, sustainable utilization of eco-sensitive areas, regulation of tourism activities based on carrying capacity, promotion of community participation, and creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities," reads a detailed reply submitted by...
