Srinagar, Sept. 21 -- Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir Government has created 899 new posts across various departments since October 16, 2024, the Legislative Assembly was informed on Monday.

The information was provided in response to a question raised by Handwara MLA Sajad Gani Lone.

According to government data, the Health and Medical Education Department accounted for the highest number of newly created posts at 485, followed by the Housing and Urban Development Department with 266 posts and the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department with 82 posts.

The Jal Shakti Department created 43 posts, while 16 posts were created in the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (DMRRR).
