Srinagar, May 16 -- Srinagar- The Government has approved a comprehensive cadre review and re-organization of the Jal Shakti Department aimed at strengthening the technical, administrative and field-level capacity of the department for effective management of drinking water supply, irrigation and flood control infrastructure across Jammu & Kashmir.

The proposal was approved by the Council of Ministers vide Cabinet Decision No. 067/07/2026 dated 08.05.2026 after detailed examination and concurrence of the Finance Department.
