Srinagar, Oct. 1 -- The Income Tax Department on Wednesday carried out raids at multiple locations in Srinagar, including the residence and business establishment of a local businessman.

Officials said that the searches were conducted at the house of a well-known hotelier and businessman, located at Shalimar. Simultaneously, another raid was carried out at his showroom at Brein Nishat.

Teams of income tax officials, accompanied by police, searched the premises and examined documents related to financial transactions. The operations began early in the day when sleuths accompanied by a contingent of CRPF arrived at their long closed showroom at Boulevard.
