Heaviest Rain of the Season Hits Gulmarg; MeT Predicts More Wet Weather
Srinagar, July 22 -- Srinagar- Widespread moderate to heavy rainfall lashed Jammu and Kashmir over the past 24 hours, with Kathua recording the highest precipitation in the Union Territory and Gulmarg receiving the maximum rainfall in the Kashmir Valley, even as the Meteorological Department forecast another spell of intense rain and thunderstorms across several districts.
The prolonged rainfall also brought an unusual drop in daytime temperatures, with Katra recording its coldest July day on record amid persistent cloud cover.
