Heat Peaks In Srinagar At 35.9degC; Rain Spell Likely From Today
Srinagar, July 18 -- Srinagar- Srinagar recorded its hottest day of the season on Saturday as the maximum temperature soared to 35.9 degrees Celsius, 5.8 degrees above normal, even as the Meteorological Department (MeT) forecast a five-day spell of rain and thunderstorms across Jammu and Kashmir beginning Sunday.
According to independent forecaster, Faizan Arif, the summer capital's maximum temperature was the highest recorded so far this season. However, it remained below the highest temperature recorded last year, when Srinagar touched 37.4degC on July 6, 2024, while 36.2degC was recorded on July 29, 2024.
