Srinagar, July 15 -- Srinagar- The High Court of J&K and Ladakh has quashed the preventive detention of two detainees under the Jammu and K Public Safety Act (PSA) and ordered their immediate release from custody.

A bench of Justice Rahul Bharti quashed detention orders against Seerat-ul-Hassan Dhar of Srinagar and Adnan Rasool Ganie of Shopian.

In Dhar's case, the court observed that the authorities had acted with a "preconceived intention" to keep him behind bars and described the detention as a "sheer abuse of process of law."
