India, Oct. 8 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Finance Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday attended the 57th meeting of the GST Council chaired by Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi.

The meeting brought together Chief Ministers and Finance Ministers from across the country, besides senior officials from the Union Ministry of Finance.

The Council held detailed discussions on various GST-related issues, with deliberations focusing on strengthening the fiscal capacity of States and Union Territories, improving revenue mobilisation and promoting balanced fiscal federalism.
