Srinagar, Aug. 7 -- Srinagar- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said fruit-laden trucks from Kashmir and petroleum tankers from Jammu are being given priority on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) to ensure uninterrupted transportation of horticultural produce and essential supplies despite disruptions caused by recent heavy rains.

The Chief Minister made the remarks after reviewing the condition of the rain-hit highway during a road journey from Jammu to Srinagar, inspecting vulnerable stretches along the Udhampur-Ramban sector that witnessed landslides, mudslides and shooting stones over the past week.
