Srinagar, July 8 -- Srinagar- A fresh spell of rain and thunderstorms is likely to lash Jammu and Kashmir from Thursday, with heavy showers forecast at isolated places over the next four days, the Meteorological Centre Srinagar said.

The forecast comes after rain and thundershowers lashed several parts of the Union Territory on Wednesday evening, with brief intense spells triggering localised flash floods, mudslides and landslides in some areas.

Intense showers were reported from Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Katra, Doda, Udhampur, Batote and parts of Ramban, disrupting normal life in several areas of the Jammu region. Parts of north Kashmir's Kupwara district also received rain and thundershowers.
