Flash Floods Hit Kashmir Parts, Wet Weather To Continue Till Aug 7
Srinagar, July 31 -- Srinagar- Heavy overnight rainfall triggered flash floods in parts of north Kashmir on Friday, inundating roads and a government school in Bandipora district, while the Meteorological Department forecast intermittent rain and thunderstorms across Jammu and Kashmir till August 7.
Officials said flash floods struck Saderkoot Bala in Bandipora after intense rainfall, sending muddy water into the Government Primary School at Ganie Mohalla, Malpora. Classroom mats were damaged and classes were suspended for the day.
In neighbouring Baramulla district, flash floods affected the Brennar area of Sopore town. However, officials said there was no loss of life or damage to property. The situation was under close watch.
