Srinagar, July 1 -- Srinagar- The High Court of J&K and Ladakh has upheld the conviction and sentence of a former State Forest Corporation (SFC) official in a corruption case, ruling that recovery of tainted money, coupled with credible evidence of demand and acceptance of bribe, was sufficient to sustain his conviction.

A bench of Justice Sanjay Dhar dismissed the appeal filed by Falil Ur Rehman, who had challenged a 2020 judgment of the Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Srinagar, convicting him under the erstwhile J&K Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 161 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).
