Srinagar, July 8 -- Srinagar- Police on Wednesday arrested the driver of a vehicle that hit and injured three CRPF personnel deployed for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra near the Taingan Bypass in the Nowgam area of Srinagar, officials said.

An official said that the vehicle struck three personnel of D Company, 148 Battalion CRPF at the Taingan Bypass in Nowgam.

The official said the driver involved in the incident was arrested shortly after the accident, reported news agency KNO.

The injured personnel were immediately shifted to Ujala Cygnus Hospital, Nowgam, where they are undergoing treatment, he said.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
