Srinagar, July 31 -- Srinagar- A labourer from Chhattisgarh was killed and another from the same state was injured after suspected terrorists opened fire at a brick kiln in south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Friday evening, officials said.

The attack took place at a brick kiln in the Kelam area of the district, where the assailants targeted labourers working at the site.

Officials said two labourers sustained bullet injuries in the firing. One of them succumbed to his injuries before he could be shifted to a hospital, while the other was initially taken to the Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, and later referred to the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, for specialised treatment.
