Srinagar, Sept. 15 -- The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has tightened eligibility norms for students appearing in Class X and XII board examinations, making 75% attendance mandatory.
The Board clarified that Classes IX-X and XI-XII are two-year programmes, and students must study all subjects across both years to qualify. Internal assessment, now integral under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, requires regular attendance; without it, results cannot be declared. Defaulters will be placed in the Essential Repeat Category.
