Srinagar, June 22 -- Srinagar- The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has directed the Revenue Department to review the case of a Tehsildar who has remained under suspension for nearly four years in connection with a corruption case and take a reasoned decision within three weeks, while considering the inquiry officer's recommendation for his reinstatement.

The petitioner, Majid Choudhary, has challenged his suspension order issued on August 4, 2022, and its subsequent confirmation by the government, seeking reinstatement along with consequential benefits. He argued that his suspension had not been periodically reviewed as required under service rules and that prolonged suspension had become punitive in nature.
