Camping, Off-Roading Banned At 4 Tourist Spots
Srinagar, July 14 -- Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department has imposed an immediate ban on camping, tent pitching, off-road driving and bonfires at four popular tourist destinations in Kashmir in a bid to protect the fragile forest ecosystem and promote sustainable tourism.
According to officials, the restrictions have been enforced at Doodhpathri, Yousmarg, Tosamaidan and Hajjin-Brenwar through an order issued by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Pir Panjal Forest Division, Budgam.
Field staff have been directed to strictly implement the ban and prevent any activity that could damage or disturb reserved forest areas, officials said.
